This Manual is intended as a reference tool for staff in the hospitals and facilities served by the Puget Sound Blood Center. Two different versions of the manual, a King County Edition and a Regional Edition, are available:

King County Edition (for use by facilities in King County)
The King County Edition is intended for use by hospitals and facilities located in King County. It contains information specific to the Centralized Crossmatch Transfusion Service provided in King County by the Puget Sound Blood Center.

Regional Edition (for use by facilities outside of King County)
The Regional Edition is intended for use by hospitals and facilities located outside of King County.  It contains information for the Regional facilities outside of King County that obtain blood components, but not crossmatch service, from the Puget Sound Blood Center.

Updates
The Manuals will be reviewed periodically. The Clinical Associate will coordinate the revision of any required updates. Updates will be communicated to King County and Regional clients via email (to each  facility’s designated contact) and will also be updated online. Facilities using the Manuals should intermittently check the website for periodic updates.
