Immunogenetics/HLA LaboratoryHLA Antibody Detection
If multiple tests are ordered, refer to Profile Descriptions for specimen requirements. Patient serum is tested using a flow cytometry technique against a panel of HLA class I and class II antigens. Results are expressed as the percentage of the panel that reacted positively with the serum. Antibody specificities cannot be determined with this test. In most cases a positive result will result in further testing (HLA Antibody Specificity, Class I or II) for specificity determination. |
