There is an increasing desire to platelet type fetal amniocytes or pregnant siblings of women with NATP. This is not to be substituted for Neonatal Thrombocytopenia Evaluation. This will only type for a single antigen suspected in a family history of NATP or to confirm a diagnosis of post transfusion purpura (PTP).

• Tests Performed: Platelet Typing by DNA (PCR-RFLP)
• Test Types: Direct
• Sample Required: 10cc EDTA or 10cc ACD
• Analytic Time: 2-3 Days
