Red Cell Reference LaboratoryThermal Amplitude
This test may be indicated if the red cell reference lab has identified a red cell antibody that reacts at temperatures less than 37° C. In certain situations such as cardiac bypass, where a patient’s core temperature may be decreased to unusually cold temperatures, one may wish to know the temperature range over which the antibody will react. If indicated, the thermal amplitude test will be performed.
