Trypanosoma cruzi Antibody Screen (T. cruzi)

This test is an enzyme immunoassay for the qualitative detection of antibodies to Trypanosoma cruzi (T. cruzi) in human serum or plasma.

  • Sample Required: Clear, nonhemolyzed serum or EDTA plasma, 7 ml clot preferred. Plasma collected with an improper ratio of specimen to anticoagulant should not be used.

    Samples may be stored at 2-8°C for up to 10 days. Samples frozen at -20°C or colder are also acceptable for testing.

    Heat inactivated samples are not acceptable for testing. Samples should be handled properly to prevent microbial contamination.

  • Testing and Reporting:

Testing is conducted 7 days a week.

Reports for samples received Monday through Friday before 5:00 pm will generally be available by noon the following day. (If samples are received after 5:00 pm, the reports will be available by noon the second day after receipt.)

Reports for samples received Friday after 5:00 pm but before Sunday 2:00 pm will generally be available by noon Monday morning.

Reports for samples received after 2:00 pm on Sunday will not be available until noon Tuesday morning.
