heyBarnee! Tees Off for Blood Center
A large field of golfers chased a little white ball in the August sunshine at Bellevue’s Glendale Country Club for two reasons: to have fun and to raise money for research at Puget Sound Blood Center.
Those participating in the 4th Annual heyBarnee! Challenge Golf & Auction accomplished both. With former University of Washington football coach Don James and wife Carol as honorary chairs and the Blood Center’s Terry Gernsheimer, M.D., the featured speaker, the event continued its tradition of raising awareness of and funding for Blood Center research into the prevention and cure of autoimmune diseases.
The event is staged by Pat’s Fund, an organization named after Pat Barnes, who died at 33 from such a disease.
