Join our social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter to schedule donations, receive updates, and invite others to become first-time donors or learn about volunteer opportunities.
Social media sites the Blood Center uses:
- Facebook: This is the Facebook page of the Blood Center. You can use the page to host your drive’s event page and invite others on Facebook to donate. Become a fan to receive updates and alerts.
- Twitter: Follow the Blood Center on Twitter and receive updates on drives, emergency shortages and events.
- YouTube: This is a library of patient testimonial videos and independent, donor-created videos. You can share them with friends, and include them in drive invitation emails and event pages to put a human face on blood donation.
Social media makes blood drives convenient for small groups and for groups without a central location. These are social network drives. A group uses a social media event page either to 1) schedule a drive at a nearby donor center or blood mobile; or 2) to form donation teams based on location and then donate on the same day. They offer great scheduling flexibility.
Contact the social media coordinator at SocialNet@psbc.org, or at 425-462-4383, to receive all of the information and materials to make the most of social media for your drive.
